Description

This well-presented, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom Luna-style villa with its own private pool in Montecid is ready for its next lucky owner. Set on a generous 237 m² plot, it has that wonderful easy-going feel you want from a home in Spain: sunshine, privacy, your own pool, plenty of outdoor space, and enough room for family and friends without giving you more house or garden than you really need.

It is the kind of home that could suit so many different chapters of life. A young couple looking for their first home together, a small family wanting a house and garden of their own, or retirees ready to swap grey skies for sunshine and a slower pace of life on the Costa Blanca could all feel very much at home here. And if your family happens to have four legs and a wagging tail, they haven't been forgotten either. Durable tiled floors are easy to live with, there is outdoor space to potter and play, and the garden and pool give everyone somewhere to cool down and enjoy those long Spanish summers.

Everything you need for everyday living is comfortably arranged on one level, with the bonus of a private solarium upstairs. Unpack your suitcase, put something cold in the fridge, and start making it yours.

Interior

You enter the villa up a few steps and through a covered porch, ideal for those few days when we get a little rain, for escaping the midday sun, or simply for getting yourself and the shopping through the door without juggling everything at once. Inside, a small entrance hall has a useful closet for coats and bags, along with space for a console or chest of drawers, creating a handy drop zone as you come home.

From here, the house opens into a spacious combined living and dining room with an easy, comfortable feel. There is plenty of room to settle in for a quiet evening, eat together around the table, or gather everyone in one place when friends and family come over. A fireplace gives the room a cosy focal point during the cooler winter months, while split air conditioning keeps things comfortable when summer is in full swing. Windows to both the front porch and garden bring in natural light and connect the living space with the outdoors.

Just off the dining area is a generously proportioned kitchen with loads of workspace and storage. A window over the sink looks onto the side garden, bringing in plenty of natural light, while a door leads directly outside. We love this feature. When lunch is on the terrace, and everyone is drifting between the pool, the table, and the kitchen, being able to carry food and drinks straight outside makes summer living that little bit easier.

There are two double bedrooms, both with built-in wardrobes and air conditioning. The main bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, while a separate shower room serves the second bedroom and the rest of the house. For a couple, that second bedroom gives you a proper guest room, home office, or both. For a family of three, there is a bedroom for everyone. And when friends or family come to stay, having two proper bathrooms means everyone gets a little more privacy without needing a large house to maintain.

Tiled floors throughout are practical as well as attractive, especially for life in a warm climate. They are cool underfoot in summer, easy to keep clean, and particularly forgiving if you share your home with sandy feet, wet paws, or the occasional enthusiastic dash in from the garden.

Underbuild

And there is a little more to this villa than first meets the eye. Because the plot slopes away beneath the house, the owners have opened up a substantial underbuild area, currently used for the pool equipment and storage. There is plenty of headroom and, while the space is unfinished, it offers interesting possibilities for a future owner who wants to make more of it.

Working with an architect and subject to the necessary permissions, it could potentially become the sort of practical extra space that makes everyday life easier: a home gym, laundry room, workshop, hobby space, or simply really generous storage for bikes, tools, pool equipment, suitcases, Christmas decorations, and all the other things that somehow accumulate over the years.

We particularly like the flexibility. You are not paying for another floor of finished living accommodation that you may not need, but the space is there if your needs change and you decide you would like to explore its potential in the future.

Exterior

This is where the villa really comes into its own. The generous 237 m² plot gives you enough outdoor space to properly enjoy the Costa Blanca lifestyle without giving you an enormous garden to look after. The front garden was recently tiled for easy-care living, there is room for off-road parking on the plot if desired, sunny and shady spots throughout the day, and plenty of space to create your favourite place to sit outside.

And, of course, there is the pool. Your own private swimming pool turns the garden into somewhere you can happily spend the entire day. Morning coffee outside, a dip when the afternoon gets hot, lunch in the shade, a book by the pool, and dinner outdoors once the sun begins to soften. This is the sort of house where summer living naturally moves outside.

High garden walls give the outdoor space a good degree of privacy, while the newly tiled terrace keeps maintenance refreshingly simple. There is room for loungers and outdoor dining and enough garden for four-legged members of the family to sniff around and find their favourite sunny spot. There is also an outdoor shower, handy after a swim, whether it was you or the dog who decided to get wet.

The covered half-moon-shaped porch is another particularly lovely feature. Its pretty arches and traditional balustrade give the front of the villa real character, while the shade underneath creates a wonderfully sheltered outdoor sitting area. Add a comfortable chair, your morning coffee, and nowhere you particularly need to be, and you may find yourself spending rather a lot of time here.

When you feel like chasing the sunshine, head up to the private solarium. From here, the outlook opens up across the surrounding landscape, with mountain views and a glimpse of the Mediterranean in the distance. It is another outdoor space entirely: somewhere for a couple of loungers, a peaceful reading corner, or simply a quiet spot to enjoy the sunshine and watch the colours change across the landscape at the end of the day.

About Monforte del Cid

Montecid forms part of the historic municipality of Monforte del Cid, in Alicante’s Medio Vinalopó region, where vineyards, mountains, centuries of history, and everyday Spanish life come together. Around 20 km from Alicante, the town sits beneath the Sierra del Cid and has excellent road connections via the A-31, putting Alicante, Elche, the airport, shopping, and the beaches of the Costa Blanca within easy reach. This is a place with deep roots and traditions that are still very much alive. The historic centre reflects Monforte del Cid’s medieval Christian and Muslim past, while the surrounding countryside is famous for its vineyards and the protected Uva de Mesa Embolsada del Vinalopó, the area’s distinctive table grapes. The town also knows how to celebrate, with a lively calendar of traditional fiestas including its colourful Moros y Cristianos celebrations and the Romería and Feria de San Pascual. For lovers of the outdoors, the surrounding countryside offers walking and hiking routes, while golfers have both Alenda Golf and Font del Llop Golf Resort nearby. Even the Camino de Santiago and the historic Camino del Cid pass through Monforte del Cid. It is a lovely balance: mountain scenery, vineyards, Spanish culture, and a more relaxed pace of life, without giving up easy access to the city, coast, airport, and everything you need for everyday living.
