Guardamar del Segura is a coastal town in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community, Spain. Located on the southeast coast of the province, it is part of the region of La Vega Baja del Segura, and sits at the mouth of the Segura River. The area is known for the cultivation of the ñora pepper as well as melon, lemon, and orange. The population of Guardamar is nearly 16,000 and foreigners make up about 40% of the population.
