Greetings, darlings. It’s me, Miss Cookie von Wigglebutz, retired supermodel, bon vivant, and connoisseur of naps, nibbles, and breathtaking Mediterranean views. If you’re curious about how to spend a simply divine day in Gran Alacant, let me be your glamorous guide. 

Breakfast Like a Queen
A lady needs her fuel, and darling, I don’t do soggy kibble. I recommend Skippers in Plaza Mayor for a posh Eggs Benedict, Café Fleur for that oh-so-trendy avocado toast, or Café Glaros for the classic Spanish pan con tomate. And if you’re feeling especially cheeky, a full Irish breakfast at Molly Malone’s hits the spot. A good breakfast sets the tone, and your tail wagging, for the day.

The Scenery, Sweetie!
A walk through the Clot de Galvany nature reserve is good for the soul and the figure. You might spot birds, tortoises, or someone fabulous like myself. But if you want drama (the good kind), darling, take me to the cliffs in upper Gran Alacant high above the Med, and don’t you dare skip the Mirador del Faro de Santa Pola, known to insiders as the Gran Alacant Skywalk. The views! The breeze! The hang gliders! Très cinematic.

Beach Babe or Poolside Diva?
Time for a dip! Depending on my mood and my hair, I might frolic down to one of the many kilometers of beach for a paddle or lounge poolside with a pawfectly chilled bowl of water. Either way, it’s all about being seen, darling.

Lunch with a Side of Glamour
Lunch is not just a meal, it’s an event. For Spanish classics, I trot to El Olivo. For international flair, La Piedra is reliable, and Gourmet in the Carabassí Center serves Indian food that’s as bold as my eyeliner once was. Don’t forget the hora del vermú, a crisp vermouth before lunch is how the stylish do it. The ones from nearby Jalon Valley are exceptional.

Siesta, Strolling & Secret Spots
Afternoons are for napping or promenading. Arenales del Sol is lovely for a lazy stroll along the promenade, but if I’m feeling adventurous, I sashay down Camino del Cabo, AKA Beach Road, to sniff out the hermitage, the secret coves, and to visit Caleta dels Gossets, my favourite dog beach. If the CIMAR marine institute is open, it’s a must. I’m very into marine biology these days.

Sunset, Darling 
Golden hour is my hour and sunset is my favorite color. Catch the sunset from the Skywalk again or the cliffs, then head to La Piedra, Skippers, Miley’s, or American Rock Bar for a cocktail. Or take in the views at The View in Arenales, be sure to say hello to my friend Sergio or one of the many chiringuitos that are open in the summer. My favorite is Rocky's at Caleta dels Gossets. Sand between your paws, a cocktail or crisp white, life is good.

Dinner Under the Stars
Dine al fresco like the continental goddess you are. Tres Besos is delightful, Patagonia is perfect for carnivores, Porco Rosso is cozy and Italian (like a well-made shoe), and Nou Arcos in Arenales is my go-to for traditional Spanish fare.
